Plush Size Fashion (Clothing Enthusiast) Part 1

Today in this wide world there is so much great fashion out!  Being a PLUSH SIZE diva, it may be a little harder to find exactly what I like all the time.  Truth is, I’m appreciative that many are realizing that we all love to look our best!  This is part 1 of a series that I’m going to touch on often.  I LOVE fashion, and the different emotions it can portray for your day!

Everything down to the accessories, is my passion!  So I will be sharing with you along with my regular blogs, some of my fashion sense.  I am not, or do not aspire to be a model.  I am however a clothing enthusiast.  I go out searching for awesome deals, for plush size women that love to add flare to their wardrobe.

Each piece in today’s outfit was very great finds!  I’m not a label chaser!  Meaning I will rock anything that I deem stylish, whether it’s from Wal-Mart to Ashley Stewart.  I don’t let no one define my style character.  My main stamp on anything that I wear, is my class and daring personality.

Diamond yarn earrings, $2.99 from Burlington Coat Factory, Pink Paisley Diamond Top with Gold Beading along gathered neckline, ONE WORLD apx. $15.00 Gabriel Bro’s, Tinkled Pink Skirt cotton/Lycra blend, $5.00 (Clearance STEAL) Mossimo~Target.  Square Faux Diamond embezzled watch, $10.00 Walmart.

My favorite detail about this outfit, is the class and comfort.  I can go from a business meeting, to a nice night out with this outfit and do so comfortably.  I paired this outfit with a nice basket weaved leather thong sandal, from Target as well.  Another plus to this outfit is that it can be worn every season.  In colder climates, you add some pantyhose, a scarf, and a jacket  it crosses the seasons.

So I say to you, just because you are PLUSH SIZE don’t mean you have to wear dark colored baggy clothes.  Express yourself! NO MATTER YOUR SIZE, share with the world your personality according to your style~!! Til next time, Clothe Your Personality!! Agape. 😉

Size Discrimination

In this day and age, fashion is widespread for all individuals.  I hear women being critical of plush size woman, for the fashion that they choose to wear.  It confuses me often, because many of these very woman wear revealing clothes themselves.  I don’t know why they don’t realize flesh, is flesh.  No matter the size, color or texture.  (YUP I SAID IT)  If it’s hanging out, it’s hanging out.  I’ve heard it’s gross for that women to wear this, or that.  I wonder why we are so focused on others.  SERIOUSLY.

Don’t we all have so much work to do on ourselves to even notice what the next person is up to? {sarcasm}  Today’s world is equipped with many different size people.  I don’t tell a thin woman, that her wearing low-rise jeans is inappropriate.  That seeing maybe their mid-drift, rib cage or booty crack is gross.  SO why, if there is so much happiness in being thin, do some find time to ridicule and demean woman with curves?

I’m all about fashion.  I love everything from the clothes, down to the accessories.  Some things are super cute, and some things are just not my taste.  That don’t mean that the next person can’t rock it!  I don’t discriminate.  If I think the outfit is cute, then it’s cute on who ever wears it.  Being personally told, “Just because they make it in your size, don’t mean you should wear it.”  Only fuels my desire to want to find more stylish clothes, that shared my personality.  Besides isn’t that why we all love fashion, it’s an expressive art form?

Well below is a short vid, discussing this very topic.  I hope all is well in your world…and be on the look out!  I have a new book coming out~!! Steel Twinz 2 “Ladies On A Mission”  is going to be available mid Sept. 2013~!! It’s the sequel to my first Novella Steel Twinz “Ladies In The Street” .

Stop Snitchin? Whatever happened to STOP KILLIN’?

Marcus White Jr. Murder in broad daylight.

Marcus White Jr. Murder in broad daylight.

Imagine for a moment, when you was only one.  Can you remember back that far?  How about your terrible two’s?  As your toddling around trying to learn about everything in your new existence.  Do you remember back that far?  I have to be honest, I don’t.  Still I know it was a part of my life, from pictures my Mother captured and stories of my antics.  Now imagine being at a picnic, with your Aunts.  Probably playing and enjoying being around family.  Next thing you know, your flesh is being pierced by the sheer pain of a bullet flying towards you.  You see your Aunt headed in your direction, but it’s too late the bullet has penetrated you.  As you gasp for air, for that life sustaining air you feel your Aunts bloody body cover you hoping that she can save you from the impending doom.

Marcus White Jr. is a young boy born in Pittsburgh, PA.  His short life snuffed out, by the hands of three men on a violent vendetta.  I bring you this story to call to light a problem in our inner city neighborhoods.  This story is especially disturbing because it wasn’t even dark outside.  Still no one have come forward with information on who shot and killed this baby.  Yet we still see immature, close minded individuals wearing shirts in the “HOOD” stating “NO SNITCHIN!”  Me personally, I know for a fact that someone seen who shot down this baby, and injured his Aunts.  I’m sure, if people could report how many men did the shooting, they seen whom it was that did it!

These “HOOD” laws need to cease, we need to realize that these careless violent criminals are the ones that need to be held accountable for these tragedies.  Instead, the people in the community want to parade around with signs saying “STOP SHOOTIN, WE LOVE YOU!”  Listen, if we don’t take back our neighborhoods and stop protecting the guilty we are forever going to be living in fear.  While we hold onto these GHETTO laws, that really is suppose to be for the criminals.  {THE SO CALLED HONOR AMONG THIEVES LAWS} It is these criminals that we are allowing to run our communities.  Do you really think they care that “WE LOVE THEM”?  When they tote their guns, and shoot down our young?  DO YOU?  Who is it that is the voice of the ones that lost their lives?

I did a short video, on the topic.  Sharing with you the complete story and how our local government haven’t found not one of these assailants that killed this baby.  Yet, when a Steeler got stabbed on the South Side they found out who did that and arrested them the very next day.  Here it is nearly a Month later and we are still asking the question “WHO SHOT MARCUS WHITE JR.”????

It’s Time To Reclaim OUR Idea Of Beauty

If anyone knows me, they know that I’ve been rocking my hair el naturel for most of my adult life.  Whether it’s been in box braids, locks,

Abackdrop2wash n-go, afro’s or micro’s.  I have been an avid natural hair supporter.  It’s not that I don’t find the lovely styles that is created with curling irons, and weaves beautiful.  It’s just that those particular hairstyles don’t work well for me.  Somehow though, it has become such a hot topic for people to discuss.  Let’s be real, it’s a hot topic with females.  I honestly doubt men are sitting around discussing whether they like a weave, afro, locks, relaxed or whatever on a female.  I believe when they converse about women it’s more on the lines of lower body extremities.  I seriously doubt they are talking about our hair.  Can you imagine?  A man sit’s down in his barber chair and says to his barber, “Aye man, I just got a number from this sexy chic, with the most vibrant weave I’ve ever seen!  I mean I loved the way, her freshly relaxed hair blew in the wind!”  LMBO!  Naw I think it would go a lil like this, “Aye man, I just got the digits from this sexy woman…she had a PHAT A*% and some nice T**%#%$!!”  I’m just saying and keeping it real.  I don’t think men are as concerned with our hair, as we are.

Back to the subject at hand.  This discussion was about whether men like natural or relaxed/weaved woman.  It got me to thinking, and I realized that question really had me saddened.  WHY?  Well first off I honestly can’t believe that a grown woman, that is suppose to have self love…would ever put that much weight on a man.  I mean, if the body is our temple…this temple is ours to do what we want with it.  Why, would it be up to men to decide how a woman wears their hair? SECOND, This is already a man’s world.  They control the money, politics (Which means that they already set the laws of the land).  Why would I need to consult them for my God given hair?  So instead I did a video on my opinion concerning the matter.  I wanted to share my thoughts with you as well.  I mean you are my blog-mates.  I hope to hear your feedback on the matter.  I mean everyone is entitled to their opinion…and my opinion is IT’S TIME TO RECLAIM OUR IDEA OF BEAUTY!!

Feeling More Established As An Author, and Publishing Company!

ImageQueen Rella, started out as a name given to me by a child.  Now a grown man and out of school, he just don’t know what he did calling me Rella.  I changed something someone was using as a insult, and developed it into a empire!  I was called Barbara-Rella, by a associate that I considered a friend at one point in time.  I use to live with their family, and as I am now, and have always been a “NEAT FREAK” or as some say “OC”.  I just say that I like to surround myself with good FENG SHUI.  Keeping my home organized and neat, keeps my life in order.  Anyway, I would come home from 8 plus hours of a overtime work shift.  These shifts started around 3pm, and I wouldn’t get off from work back then until well after 12am sometimes.  This job required a lot of manual labor, and standing so it’s needless to say how tired I would be.  Still I can’t stand no house in disarray.  I would come home, and clean the house from top to bottom.  When they awoke in the am, they would find a house neatly cleaned that they didn’t have to lift a finger for.  So she started calling me, and directing her son to call me Barbara-Rella.  A spin off of Cinderella who often found herself cleaning up after her wicked Step-Mom and Sisters.  It was suppose to be a put down, I guess.  Well I’m determined to turn that S*** into Sugar!!

As of March 2013 I just recently found out that my published books, are now available to be borrowed from Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Library. {A CHILDHOOD DREAM COMING TO REALITY!}  I started out on this journey to get inducted into the Library Catalog system, two years ago!  So you know that this news is very exciting for me, and my company .  Two years ago, I donated books to the East Liberty and Eastridge Library in Pittsburgh, hoping that these people in the library would enter it into the catalog system. {Especially since I am a local Author}  What I got was swift kick into reality that everything takes time, and work.  It was interesting to find out, after all that driving around, delivering books, and donating them.  It wasn’t even the libraries that I submitted to, that introduced the books to the system.

Both of the books published so far, Steel Twinz “Ladies In The Street” and Tales From Steel City are both available for borrowing!!!  I’m on the new materials list with the great Mr Dan Rooney, with his new book “Allegheny City: A History of Pittsburgh’s North Side”!!  Not to mention, Queen Rella’s Novella’s have some big things coming for the future~!!  I’m excited to share this news, and its a blessing that things are starting to fall in place for my dream.  When I found out I was entered into the library system, it made me realize that no matter the humble beginnings you come from, you can build “NOTHING” into “SOMETHING GREAT!”  I hope that’s inspirational for you~!! It is proving to be motivation for me~!!  I can’t take all the credit for this revelation, first I need to thank my HIGHER POWER, Jehovah for always showing me my path in life and THANKS to whoever it is that kept requesting my book for library induction.  Lastly but most importantly, Thanks, to PENN HILLS LIBRARY for putting my book on their new materials list!  It such a dream come true for me!!

As far as where I go from here?!?  I have a couple more books that is ready for release, and many more that’s being worked on!!  Not only is as a publishing company, but as a Author, and a dedicated YOUTUBE publisher {} as well.   This is just the FIRST CHAPTER in the book of Queen Rella’s Novella’s….stay tuned for more to come~!!

Thanks for reading, and staying in touch~!!

Luv Always,

Queen Rella

There Should Be A SUPPORT GROUP for Quitting $ocial Networking $ites?

It’s been 4 months since I’ve logged onto those major social networking sites.  What started out as a hiatus have turned into a out, and out recovery program.  Yeah, that’s right I SAID IT~!! {LOL}  Whenever I speak to people in person, and they haven’t been on {FB, MYSPACE, TWITTER… etc.}  They always will tell you exactly how long it’s been since they’ve logged in.  Free-DUMB? It often makes me giggle at how much we sound like recovering addicts, explaining how proud we are of our break from addiction.

I think whether we know it or not, drama is addictive.  After getting a taste of it, it’s hard to look away or stay away from it.  Daily doses of drama is often administered on these sites.  What makes it even juicier is that it’s drama from people we know personally.  You want to know who so and so is pregnant by?  Check their post, and look at pictures!  You’re curious about someones relationship status, check their page.  Or better yet, you want to know how a party went….pictures will be posted as it’s going on.  Social networking sites is a breeding ground for arguments, verbal warfare and drama.  Let’s face it.

I have resolved in my mind, that social networking sites is a great avenue for business.  You can connect with like-minded people and showcase what ever you have to sale.  Even though this a free way to get word out about your product, it comes with a high PRICE.  Accumulation of more “SO CALLED” friends, followers or associates means more people privy to your private goings ons.  lol.  Yea I know they only know what you post.  That can be the furthest from the truth.  Technology is become better every day.  Social media sites are becoming more advanced.  Other people can post things to your wall, and tag you to nonsense that you wasn’t even involved in.  Next thing you know, some other person is coming at you for something you wasn’t even aware you was tagged in.  So in my mind, I will continue to use these avenues for business purposes only.  I feel like this, “If I don’t have any business to share, then I have no business being there!”

This is not to say I’m not interested in other peoples well being.  That is furthest from the truth.  I’m looking to reconnect with those closest to me.  I want to see their beautiful faces in person, and hear their voices for real.  Words can be a beautiful thing…but on Social Networking sites, they become vague, pointed, manipulated and used to tear others down, disrespect and measure towards their own existences.  This keeping up with the Jones mentality is magnified on Social Networking sites.  I’ve come to the realization that I have nothing to prove to anyone except…My Higher Power, My Husband and of course MY SELF.  So needing to post, and show people what I’m up to every minute of every day is cut out.  WHY?  Well, for me I enjoy my sanctity, and privacy of my life.  These “THINGS” accumulated in life is just that, THINGS.  I value something that can’t be bought…and that is my relationships, and the love that I share with my loved ones.

SO I say as FB/twitter and other Social Networking is finding more, and more ways to invade your life,  WHAT HAVE THEY DONE FOR YOU LATELY?  I’m serious.  I love that saying, “If it don’t make dollars, then it doesn’t make $en$e.”  I use to log onto to Social Media to play games with family, check in on my family and friends, say hi to old friends as well as share my product with those that are interested in it.  Now I cringe at the thought of logging on to the egotistical word battles, hateful words, and racial disagreements.  This is my leisure time.  Leisure time is  described as a time for recreation.  Recreation is  leisure, leisure being discretionary time. The “need to do something for recreation” is an essential element of human biology and psychology. Recreational activities are often done for enjoymentamusement, or pleasure and are considered to be “fun“.  Since many of these Social Networking sites are no longer geared towards enjoyment, amusement or pleasure I find that my time offline have been so refreshing…and now I can say with confidence when I do have “FREE TIME”  I don’t damage my mental with the drama’s of social networking.

I’m grateful for those connections that Social Networking have helped me make.  On the same note, I do realize the damage it can and will do to many perfectly fine relationships.  Those vague, snippy, sexist, racist, provoking post that flash across the screen from others that promote drama…seeps into my mind.  I don’t want those thought processes to clog and pollute my mind.  I hate to say it, but it’s true… “Bad association do spoil useful habits” (1 Cor. 15:33)  Many may fight bible teaching, don’t believe in a higher power or want to rely on their own teachings.  That’s cool with me, I say what ever works for you…work it!  Especially if it keeps you OUT of turmoil.  I know that being on Social Networking sites was starting to bother me, when it was a high topic for discussion.  That’s when I knew it was time to start limiting my contact with the drama filled sites.

Maybe it’s time to start a support group SNA {Social Networking Anonymous}!!  I’m sure those that understand where I’m coming from will want to join too~!!  Knowing that each day, away from those sites brings you closer to those that truly want to see you do well in life.  As well as those that don’t want you caught up in the dramatics that spill out into the streets, that social networking creates.  Well thats all my wonderful blog mates… Thanks for listening and letting me share my thoughts on this matter.  My name is Queen Rella, and I’m a recovering Social Networking addict. lol.  See you in the next post~!!  I’ll see you on Social Networking sites, when I have official business to attend to!!

What Sky?

It always boggles my mind when people say that they can’t do something.  I know it’s true that some things are more difficult to attain, still is it true what they say, “You only can do, what you say you can do”? I’m not perfect I have to cleanse my mind, and redirect my thoughts to keep pushing too.  Still, I love the thought of life being endless, the possibilities of different difficult tasks, that I can conquer.  All the goals that I can plant, and watch how they blossom into full beautiful roses of inspiration, for me to plant more in my life.

Many people have a tendency to confuse confidence, with conceited.  You have to have confidence in you, and your abilities to see your goals manifest.  So what do I say to those that say, “STAY IN YOUR LANE!”? I laugh at that comment, and keep it moving.  This is the land of the free, with liberty and justice.  If you’re not out being a outlaw, anything in life that you want to explore is your lane.  Having high hopes and ambition behind it, is a good focus in life.  Many want you to fall short of your dreams, only because they don’t have any.

Getting caught up with the right people that want to see you do well.  Not because they want something from you, since they are doing well them selves.  That alone puts you in the right frame of mind, to know that your pursuing what you’re destined to do.  This is a personal journey, and a lot of times many folks will wait until you do all the work, get the momentum going.  Then instantly when success comes knocking on your door, they try and hitch themselves to your star.  I’m not talking about genuine people that have supported your dream, as well as others.  I mean the ones that wished down evil upon you, and now want to gravitate towards you.  Those folks I eliminate faster that the energizer bunny hops through the screen.

Still setting all that to the side, I hope everyone knows it’s okay to boost yourself.  It’s important for you to buy into YOURSELF!  If you don’t, then who will?  So yesterday, you couldn’t walk 15 minutes with out stopping.  Guess what?  Tomorrow I bet you will go 20 minutes, and enjoy every moment of that accomplishment.  When I think of the world, I don’t say the sky is the limit.  I feel more like saying, “WHAT SKY?”  There is too much out there unexplored, for me to limit myself.

So my wish for you is to set your limit, and defy them too.  I just had that thought, as I watch this small business of mine, grow.  I can apply that into any portion of my life, and say,  “Never say, never!”  It’s progressive to think positive thoughts, and once them thoughts turn into reality.  Remember, to enjoy those moments…and pull out your pen to set and defy some more~!! Hope everyone is enjoying their February…into March.  At least soon Spring will be arriving, and we can start seeing the suns beautiful rays more often!  Talk to you soon!

Luv Always,

Queen Rella
